Arnold Schwarzenegger on Chiropractic:
“Chiropractic is about health and fitness and there is such a strong relationship between the two. This is why I’m so excited to have the chiropractors here from all over the world each year, because you represent exactly the same thing. Chiropractic is about health and fitness. Chiropractic is about natural, preventive health care. It can help families be healthier and also spend time together doing something important to all their lives. What we’re trying to do is not just promote the sport of bodybuilding, but fitness and health. Fitness, for us, is everything in a naturally healthy lifestyle. So that’s why it is so great for us to work together.”
Arnold, as well as many former and present athletes realize that chiropractic can help them increase performance and maintain good health. The nervous system controls and coordinates all body function. Chiropractors work by removing interference to the nervous system thus allowing the body to function at its maximum potential. Athletes understand that even the slightest advantage in ability can make the difference in competition.

"I did a lot of things to stay in the game, but regular visits to my chiropractor were among the most important."

Johnny Damon, New York Yankees
New York Chiropractic Yankees planetc1.com-news email to the editor by Michael Dorausch, DC
The New York Yankees and chiropractic have been in the news the past few weeks thanks to major-league baseball player Johnny Damon. In most recent news, the New York Times reported earlier this week that the Yankees would be hiring a team chiropractor, apparently on the advice of Johnny Damon.
There were several articles circulating in the news about Johnny Damon and the chiropractic care he has been receiving in Orlando, Florida. According to Damon, his chiropractor is amazing. The New York Yankees center field ballplayer hopes his chiropractic care will translate into better results on the field, not only for himself, but for his team.
This wouldn't be the first time the New York Yankees have utilized the team chiropractor. Back in May of 1934, a magazine from the National Chiropractic Association featured a front-page photo of New York Yankees team chiropractor (Dr. Painter) working with a ballplayer, with Babe Ruth watching on. I don't know if there's any truth of this, but I once heard that at the time, the New York Yankees asked the New York Daily News to keep quiet about the Yankees having a team chiropractor, which was from the 1920s to the 1930s. Apparently, they wanted to maintain a competitive edge by keeping the chiropractic care a secret. Perhaps coincidentally, the Yankees recorded their best season ever (1927 - World Champions) and won four World Championships (1923, 1927-1928, 1932) during the time of Dr. Erie Painter, chiropractor.
According to various news reports, Johnny Damon has not spent a single day on baseball's disabled list during his lengthy playing career. Planet Chiropractic would like to recognize and congratulate Johnny Damon, the New York Yankees management, and the entire Yankees organization, for their continued support and utilization of chiropractic care in the field of professional athletics.
Jonas Brothers make sure to get spines adjusted regularly By JEFF WEBER • STAFF WRITER • June 30, 2009
BRANCHBURG — Taking care of our bodies is akin to taking care of a car: They just won't work right without proper maintenance.
Quantcast
In a car, the oil needs to be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. It needs tune-ups, tire rotations, fresh fluids and other work that prevents mechanical breakdown. The body also needs such care: exercise, proper eating habits and regular checkups with a doctor.
But many people only consider their personal ""mechanics" to be dentists and doctors. Not everyone considers a specialist such as a chiropractor to be central to physical well-being. Dr. Steven Clarke, president of the Association of New Jersey Chiropractors, believes that is the case. And like our vehicles, without proper care, we can fall apart.
"Our bodies like the car: You can't race that engine without the car eventually breaking down. It needs to have some idle time; it needs to be off for a bit," says Clarke, who regularly uses his association's publication, The New Jersey Chiropractor, to spread his message. "It's the same thing with the body: You need to recuperate. You need to have proper rest, proper nutrition, proper sleep. We (chiropractors) work with the body to keep it at its maximum potential — the best that it can be."
That message might be lost on a lot of people, but word slowly is spreading among the general population. However, chiropractic has become a way of life among those who count entertainment and sports as their means of making a living.
One of the most popular music groups right now, at least among the younger generation, is the Jonas Brothers. Since forming in 2005, the three brothers from Wyckoff have become a pop-music phenomenon, releasing four albums, touring all over the world and taking over The Disney Channel.
While much of their success is attributed to natural talent and smart managing by their father, Kevin Jonas Sr., the brothers — Kevin Jr., Joe and Nick — have been aided by employing good health practices. And for years now, that has meant regularly obtaining the services of their hometown chiropractor, Dr. Albert Wolyniec.

Phillies Notes: Martinez to see chiropractor Posted on Mon, Sept 21, 2009
By Andy Martino
Inquirer Staff Writer
ATLANTA - Pedro Martinez rode a stationary bicycle for about 40 minutes yesterday morning, walked to his locker and rubbed his neck.
"Not too good," the Phillies righthander said. "I feel it in the back [of the neck], it shoots to the right side."
Martinez injured his neck swinging and missing in the second inning of Saturday's loss to the Atlanta Braves, and left after throwing one warm-up pitch before the fourth. "I didn't sleep very well last night," he said, grimacing while massaging the afflicted area.
Martinez said he expected to see a chiropractor in Miami, where the Phillies travel tonight. Asked if he might miss his next start, Martinez said, "Thank God for that day off [today]," which seemed to imply that four days of rest might be not be sufficient, but the extra day provided by the schedule might create enough time to recover.
That start would come Friday in Milwaukee, and Martinez remained cagey when asked about his status for it. "I think it's going to be great," he said of Friday. "Day before Saturday!"
Injuries to Martinez and J.A. Happ (strained side muscle) further complicate the competition for the fourth and final playoff-rotation spot. Before Martinez's injury, manager Charlie Manuel strongly hinted that the lefthanded Happ would be sent to the bullpen because of a dearth of healthy lefties there.
Happ threw his regularly scheduled between-starts bullpen session yesterday, and he and pitching coach Rich Dubee continued to say that Happ was healthy and would make his scheduled start Thursday in Milwaukee.
"I wouldn't say he is definite, but I would say he has a good chance," Manuel said.
